A nine-member Indian parliamentary delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, has arrived in Japan as part of a broader diplomatic mission under Operation Sindoor, aimed at exposing Pakistan’s state-sponsored terrorism and presenting India’s united stand against cross-border terror.

BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, a member of the delegation, expressed confidence in the outcome of the visit, stating that the series of high-level meetings planned with Japanese government officials will be “very fruitful.”

The delegation began its visit in Tokyo on Thursday, with a detailed briefing at the Embassy of India by Ambassador Sibi George. Speaking to ANI, Sarangi said the discussions helped the team better understand Japan’s stance on the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and its broader posture toward India.

“We had a very good dialogue with the ambassador and his team. We wanted to understand Japan’s viewpoint on the Pahalgam massacre and their general approach toward India,” Sarangi said. “We’ll be meeting several officials, including the foreign minister or his deputy, and I am very optimistic about the outcomes.”

In a social media post, the Indian Embassy in Japan confirmed the meeting, stating: “All-Party Parliamentary Delegation was briefed by Ambassador @AmbSibiGeorge on Japan-specific approach to engagements, setting the context for a strong messaging of India’s fight against terrorism.”

The delegation comprises MPs from across party lines, including Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MPs Dr Hemang Joshi, Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. Their tour includes stops in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore, as part of India’s global outreach to counter Pakistan’s terror narrative.

Before departing, Sanjay Jha emphasized that the mission aims to expose Pakistan’s consistent support for terrorism on the global stage.

“Terrorism is Pakistan’s state policy. Our job is to reveal this reality to the world and convey that India will no longer tolerate such acts. The world must see Pakistan’s nuclear threats and terror policies for what they are,” Jha said.

Operation Sindoor was launched following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. In response, India carried out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK). After a period of escalated military tension, the two nations agreed to cease further hostilities.

The delegation’s visit underscores India’s unified political front in its campaign to isolate terrorism globally and garner support for its zero-tolerance approach to terror.
